Ahad Gasanov, who graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in 1998, has been a familiar figure in the squares and streets of Turku for several years now. The artist, who established a studio in St. Petersburg, has been living part of his time in Turku for several years now, creating colorful impressionistic works on the themes of Turku. His works radiate movement and life. During these years, Ahad taught the history and culture of Turku (Finland)well. New, interesting views and compositions combine the new and the old in his works. In his favorite colors, he depicts the French school, and his role models were, among others, Manet, Degas, Monet and other wonderful French impressionists. “There is no shortcut to any artistic movement, ” says Ahad. “First you need to learn how to draw, and only then can you specialize and find your own style, ” summarizes Ahad, who has been receiving art education for more than ten years.
